The now Brighton Depot Restaurant is the original train depot operated by the Union Pacific Railroad from 1887 until 1980 when it was deeded to the city of Brighton with the intent of preserving it’s history and legacy for the town of Brighton. In 1980, an agreement was made between the City of Brighton and the then owner, to move the building from it’s original location on Cabbage Street on the Union Pacific tracks to it’s current location just east of the tracks and adjacent to a stream. The Brighton Depot as it now stands beckons a bygone era and is preserved to welcome “passengers” of all ages to enjoy the history and ambiance of a once vital link to the growing metropolis’ of the Western past.
