About The Brighton Depot Restaurant
Forward Into the Past! We were so pleased to find the Brighton Depot building was for sale two years ago. It presented us with an opportunity to help revitalize downtown Brighton and give back to the community. This was also an opportunity to preserve a vital part of Brighton's past and make it available for current and future visitors. With the completion of the new Library and Performing Arts Complex adjacent to the restaurant, we are pleased to be part of the heart of Brighton's downtown renovation. Whether you are a train buff or not, the Historic Brighton Depot represents a bygone era that needs to be maintained. Links to the past help define the future! Once the purchase was finalized, it was our mission to not only rejuvenate the building but to "undo" what it had been. The previous business, also a restaurant for many years, had been let deteriorate. We removed the old carpeting and sub-floors to reveal the original freight room floors and an exceptional hardwood floor in the North Dining Room which was originally the passenger waiting area. When we removed the old walls, it also revealed the original "wainscotting" walls and ceiling in their original condition. The new "History Wall" helps you walk back in time to reminisce about Brighton's past. On the East side of the building sits an old Boxcar which we turned into a Bar. Ever had a drink in a boxcar before? You don't have to jump a train to sit and enjoy a meal and beverage! The kids are fascinated by watching a garden gauge train travel through the entire building too!
Downstairs we opened up the old lounge into a wonderful space for private functions, meetings and events. Come on out and give us a try. Leave your bags at the door and get back on track at the Historic Brighton Depot Restaurant and Events Center!
Thank you,
